Kayla is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist, L Graduate with Distinction and a successful Grand Prix Rider and Trainer. She has spent the past 14 years at Poulin Dressage in Florida under the instruction of Michael, Sharon, and Gwen Poulin. Her education included everything from basic horse care and starting young horses, to training the Piaffe, and how to manage a 49 stall barn. One of Kayla's greatest joys has been training her mare Rapunzel. As a 3 year old Roo was afraid of the world, but over time Kayla gained her trust and Roo has become one of her greatest teachers. In the competition arena the pair have been to the US Dressage Finals twice, placing 2nd in Training Level Open and 3rd in First Level Open. After years of training and trusting the process of how to develop a Grand Prix horse, Kayla is looking forward to competing Roo in the FEI arena this spring.
Kayla’s exposure to only classical principles of dressage centered on the training scale, has truly given her a distinct advantage when developing training plans for horses and students. She has worked with all levels of horses and riders from beginner to Grand Prix, and enjoys working with a variety of breeds. Located at Sassy Strides but willing to travel Kayla looks forward to helping riders and horses at any level pursue their dressage journey.
As a USDF L graduate with Distinction Kayla is ready to judge your schooling show or ride a test.
